Born in Manhattan, Leif Skodnick was raised in Princeton Junction, New Jersey. His widely varied interests include acoustic and folk music, Canadian politics and history, firefighting, golf, and the New York Yankees.
As a journalist, Leif has covered local business, as well as the NFL, NBA, Major League Baseball, college football, horse racing and minor league baseball. He also provided play-by-play radio coverage for several minor league hockey teams, including the world famous (and now defunct) Johnstown Chiefs of the ECHL. His work has appeared on ESPN Radio, Sirius/XM, NHL.com, ECHL.com, NPR, AP Radio, Fox Sports Radio, Yahoo! Sports Radio, and in The Danbury News-Times, The Connecticut Post, and The Rome (Ga.) News-Tribune, among other outlets.
Leif lives in Rye, N.Y.. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Canadian Studies and History from St. Lawrence University in Canton, New York, a Juris Doctor cum laude from the Mississippi College School of Law in Jackson, Miss., and a master of science degree from Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism.
